Barrier free, motorcycle deterrence signage and cctv.

Cycle parking in the centre of St Ives

Three streets in St Ives that are miraculously free of parked cars.

A nice little cut-through in St Ives - except for the parked cars.

An unusual e-cargo bike in St Ives

Start of byway - I haven't tested it, but cyclists should be able to get through to the Helford River at the head of Porth Navas Creek.

Helston's main street closed all day for Flora Day.

The A394 in Helston briefly closed for Flora Day - only the 7am dance comes this way, the others stay closer to the town centre.

Traffic sign violations.

Cycle lane markings have appeared. Sign still wrong.

Well-hidden cycle stands alongside the platform at St Ives station.

Access to a road a couple of hundred metres away - but you can't take a bike either way on the coastal footpath.

In theory I suppose that's a modal filter up there. You could get a bike to the coast here but can't take it either way on the coastal footpath.

Pedestrian link from Causewayhead, Penzance, to new cycle parking in a car park.

One of Penzance's new Cycle Hubs, in a car park near Causewayhead.

.. but what is this nonsense? (see #182651) - Cyclists Dismount sign where cars are obviously free to move around - on the way to new cycle parking in a car park just off Causewayhead, Penzance. (And why so far above the ground?)

So far so good... sign to new cycle parking in a car park just off Causewayhead, Penzance

[Image taken 17.5.22] Jockey Lane, close to the entrance to Sainbury's off the roundabout, Huntington/York. Broken glass. It was here on Sunday too. I reported it in person to CYC at around 16.30 today in the hope it could get cleared up qu ... [more]

[Image taken 17.5.22] Aldi, Kathryn Avenue, Huntington/York. There are good points about the cycle provision here: #175243 but they are too close together (measurements: #170557). They are also often oversubscribed. As today. Two people (ju ... [more]

[Image taken 17.5.22] New Lane, York. In 2021 the cycle direction and the shared use signs became completely overgrown. Looks as if they are going the same way in 2022. Other images today and links: #182641.

[Image taken 17.5.22] New Lane looking towards the junction with Malton Road, Huntington/York. The lanes are very narrow. This is a mini yet there is no space to pass a cyclist if there is oncoming motor traffic. Speeds can be high (especia ... [more]

[Image taken 22.6.21] Aldi, Kathryn Avenue, Monks Cross, Huntington, York. Good points: the racks are Sheffields; no lifting is required to get a cycle in or out; there's no problem with manoeuvring backwards; they are under cover; they are ... [more]

  • Icon 182549 Section of road here has cycle lanes (non mandatory) to either side. Should be reconfigured with a two way cycle path from Ashford Rd to the canal path with one safe crosing. There is no safe right turning pocket off the road to the canal when heading south on the A588.
  • Icon 182548 Lines and symbols need repainting to make it clear that downhill is on the road and uphill is contraflow on the shared pavement. Most markings are very faded.
